Expertly developed for the next generation of lifesavers, the Circle One 8'10" Rescue Board is specifically designed for junior and youth paddlers taking their first steps into full-spec surf lifesaving.
Fast, light and responsive, this hardboard rescue board helps young lifesavers build competence and confidence in surf, improving their technique and stamina on flat water. At 8'10" × 19 3/8" × 6 11/16" with 114.2 litres of volume, it is the natural step up from the Circle One Nipper range — longer, fuller in volume and built to full rescue board spec for older kids and teenagers ready to take their lifesaving to the next level.
Five webbing and neoprene deck handles — plus two indented rail handles on both sides — allow the board to be gripped securely by rescuer and casualty alike, making victim recovery safer and more controlled in real-world conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Circle One 8'10" Rescue Board used for?
Yes. The Circle One 8'10" Rescue Board is designed for surf lifesaving operations, open water rescue, and training. It is suitable for patrol use, lifesaving competition and club training at beach and inland water sites.
How does the 8'10" compare to the Circle One Nipper boards?
The Circle One Nipper boards are aimed at 7 to 11 year olds and are designed to be stable and easy to handle in the surf. The 8'10" is the natural trade-up — longer, higher volume at 114.2 litres, and built to full rescue board spec. It gives older kids and teenagers a genuine performance step-up while retaining the same proven EPS/epoxy construction they will be familiar with from the Nipper range.
What are the carry handles for on a rescue board?
The handles on the 8'10" Rescue Board serve two purposes. The five webbing and neoprene deck handles at the nose, centre and tail allow lifeguards to carry and launch the board quickly on the beach. The two indented rail handles — recessed into both sides of the board — give a casualty secure grip points during recovery, keeping them close to the board while being brought back to shore.
Does this rescue board meet surf lifesaving competition requirements?
The 8'10" is built to the construction standards and dimensional requirements used across the surf lifesaving industry. We recommend checking with your specific governing body or club for any event-specific equipment regulations before competition use.
What construction is used in the Circle One Rescue Board?
The board uses the same construction as the Circle One Nipper range: an EPS hi-density pressurised core wrapped in Crosslink material and multi-layer 6oz European fibre-glass, laminated with premium European epoxy resin. A unidirectional wood stringer runs the full length for strength and controlled flex. The deck is finished in durable IXPE skin; the bottom in full HDPE soft slick for rider safety.
Can this board be used for surf lifesaving competition as well as patrol?
Yes. The 8'10" dimensions and construction make it appropriate for both competitive surf lifesaving events and operational patrol use. Its compact size gives it a speed advantage in competition settings compared with longer boards, while the full handle configuration ensures it meets operational rescue requirements.

Wetsuit Recycling
At Circle One, we've gone one step further to combatting the on-going problem of end-of-life wetsuits ending up in landfill. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we operate a wetsuit recycling / re-purposing scheme in partnership with Barefoot Tech based in South Wales. Barefoot Tech take the usable material from end-of-life wetsuits and neoprene accessories and turn them into unique, fashionable accessories. Check out the Barefoot Tech website here.
