7' Heritage Egg

7' 0" × 21¼" × 2½" – Volume 42.49L

The Ultimate All-Rounder The 7' Egg is the "Swiss Army Knife" of the Heritage range. Its rounded nose and tail offer a smooth, predictable flow that makes it the perfect bridge between a longboard and a performance mid-length. With 42.49 litres of volume, it offers incredible stability for those still perfecting their pop-up, yet the hand-shaped "egg" rails allow more experienced riders to lay it over into deep, carving turns. It's the ultimate "one-board quiver"—friendly enough for a beginner to gain confidence, but refined enough to handle punchy overhead surf for the seasoned local.

Available in Bottle Green, Sky Blue or Duck Egg.

FCS II Fin Recommendations

The Heritage Egg comes fitted with FCS II finboxes as standard — the tool-free system used by more surfers worldwide than any other. Fins are sold separately.

There’s no shortage of FCS II fins on the market, and the sheer choice can be overwhelming. The options shown on the right here aren’t generic suggestions, they’ve been carefully selected in collaboration with FCS, based on our real world tests of this board’s shape and how it performs in the water.

The Circle One Heritage Range

Step back in time without sacrificing the tech. Our Heritage range is a tribute to the golden era of surfing, using modernised shapes by the legendary Jeff Townsley, the founder of Circle One and an OG of the British shaping scene since the 70s.

These boards feature a Premium Epoxy Resin Tint finish. This traditional technique creates a deep, vibrant, and translucent colour that is "in" the resin, not just painted on. Because each board is hand-laminated and hand-finished, the tint creates unique colours and sometimes patterns, ensuring your board is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Combined with modern FCS II fin boxes (the most versatile system on the market), these boards offer vintage soul, wave catching ease combined with the reliability and performance of today's best materials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of waves is the Heritage Egg designed for?

The Heritage Egg works across a wide range of conditions — knee-high to overhead and beyond. The wide outline and generous volume make it quick to paddle and easy to catch waves on, even in smaller or messier surf. As conditions improve, the shaped rails and bottom contour give more experienced surfers the tools to push harder. In everyday UK surf it's hard to beat as an all-round option.

Is this board suitable for beginners?

Yes — at 51 litres, the Heritage Egg has enough volume and stability for a beginner who is ready to progress onto a hard board. The rounded outline is forgiving and predictable, which builds confidence quickly. Crucially, it's also a board that grows with you — as your surfing develops, the egg shape rewards better technique with a more responsive, engaging ride. You won't outgrow it quickly.

What is a thruster fin setup?

A thruster is a three-fin setup — one centre fin and two side fins. It's the most widely used configuration in modern surfing, offering a balance of drive, control, and manoeuvrability. The three fins work together to give the board hold through turns and stability at speed. The Heritage Egg's FCS II finboxes are compatible with the full range of FCS II thruster sets, and we've hand-picked the options we think work best with this specific shape.

What volume should I choose for an egg surfboard?

The Heritage Egg comes in at 42.49 litres, which makes it accessible across a wide range of surfer weights and abilities. As a general guide, beginners tend to benefit from volume at around 100% of their body weight in kilograms, while intermediate surfers can go somewhat lower and advanced surfers lower still. If you're unsure whether 51 litres is right for you, get in touch and we'll help you work it out.

Which FCS II fins work best with this board?

We've hand-picked specific FCS II fin options for the Heritage Egg based on our knowledge of how this board is shaped and how it performs. There's a wide range of FCS II fins available, but our recommendations represent what we genuinely believe works best with this particular shape. You'll find them via the fin upgrade buttons above — a standard option and a premium option depending on your preference and budget. If you'd like further guidance, feel free to get in touch.

What is an egg surfboard?

An egg surfboard is a mid-length shape — typically 6 to 8 feet — with a wide, rounded nose and tail, soft rails, and a low-to-moderate rocker. The name comes from the board's oval outline. Eggs sit between a longboard and a shortboard in terms of feel: they paddle well and catch waves easily, but are more manoeuvrable than a traditional longboard. They've been a staple shape since the late 1960s and remain one of the most practical and enjoyable all-round designs available.
